Arrival in the Turks & Caicos Islands We just got back from a wonderful time at Beaches Turks & Caicos, located on Providenciales. Beaches, which is owned by Sandal's Resorts, is their family resort brand for those of you not familiar with it. They currently have three beaches resorts, two located in Jamaica and their premier Beaches Resort located in the Turks & Caicos Islands. The resort is extremely easy to get to from airports on the East Coast, with direct flights from many major airports. Landing in the airport, I saw American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, Continental (now United) and several local airlines flying out to the other Caribbean Islands. We arrived on JetBlue with a direct flight from JFK airport in New York. It was a quick 3 hours and we were getting off the plane at the Providenciales Airport.
This is a small airport that has just been remodeled but it is still using the roll up ladders to de-plane and takes a while to get through customs but I must say quicker than Nassau. Once outside after collecting our luggage, we turned left and headed for the Beaches Welcome Desk where we were given our room number and our luggage was loaded into our free shuttle to the resort. End of part one!
